Well, if the troubles with servers don't spill way into next week and the release, I can live with it. But I have time to waste and was planning on doing that in game.

Twitter does require a cell phone with internet access? I don't need 2 internet bills. Don't even need 2 phone bills. Where else will there be a response?

Must be nice, I still can't log in (getting error 42). I have been playing for over 6 years and this is the first time I can remember having this much of a problem with the servers.

I have been able to log in after a lot of 042 errors. Sometimes kicks me out when I zone but with a couple of tries is working.

The servers were down for like 4 to 4 and a half hours or so. The rest of the day they were up and running no problem. Also for all the doomsday people. GW1's population looked pretty healthy. The "GW1 is dying" sandwich board prophets still have some time before GW1 ends. Some guy keeps saying that dragons are gonna come and wipe everything out. I lol'ed. What a paranoid freak.

Everyone knows that at december 21th of this year the elder dragons will coome down from the sky and fry the GW servers and while they are at it, the rest of the world as well.
If you look to the population these 2 days a few remarks. Though aed is still relativly active in the major towns, it has redcued to 50%. If I look however at eed, it is even worse. But I've never been part of the doomsday cultus.
on one hand I expect tomorrow an even bigger group leaving. I know enough people who preordered instead of prepurchased and are going to switch tomorrow.
On the other hand I also expect that after the first few days/weeks people are getting back to gw1 when the new toy isn't new anymore. The reason is that they have unfinnished business or found out that gw1 isn't their game.
In other words. GW1 can have a nice and active future and I won't see it decaying very soon.

Looks like this isn't the case

They supposed to know how many people might be on from the first day cause they supposed to know how many prepurchased (you just assume all of them will be on from first second it's posible to be on, looks like noone learned something from the experience that blizzard had with d3 in the first days...) so their servers supposed to be able to handle them without problems.

Regarding the game population, la, kamadan are not that bad affected but if u look at jq it's bad (extremely bad during the morning hours in my case and in jq case it will be worst when the bots will no longer be there, no reason to keep the bots on when the gold sellers don't have buyers...).
If people come back one by one to gw1 it will not be good. If they like to play like any offline rpg then they will stay, but if they like to play with other humans they might found out they don't have with who to do it and they will go back to gw2 or try to find another game if they didn't liked gw2.
If you want to do some not easy stuff now you have some problems:
- in uw case i saw only sc, and someone that has uw left to do probably didn't made it cause he didn't ever try to sc it
- in doa case you can hardly find a party there, but if u find it they will not be that strict with your build
